Church Christmas Program

I'm not doing it. I'm not wearing that horse suit.  I'm not doing it.
This is what Parker said on Wednesday night after "dress rehersal" for the children's program at chruch.
After having a "specialty" costume made....not sure about a horse in the nativity scene...
He pulled it off.  He sat with the chicken, the cow, and all the sheep....and it true Parker fashion hammed it up for the camera!
Carson got to hang out with his buddy Bella and was able to spread the Christmas love of snotty nose colds to her household by way of a holiday hug and kiss.
We enjoyed watching both boys interact with a crowd, peers their own age, and each other.

Disney on Ice

This weekend Parker went on a Mommy/Daddy date.
He got to go to Disney on Ice 100 years of Magic!
He was mesmerized from the moment it began.
Some of his favorite parts were:
"That Shark guy" aka Bruce from Finding Nemo
Toy Story
Cotton Candy with complimentary Alien hat
When all the characters were on the ice at the end.
Did I mention the Alien Hat?

Blowed Up!

It is becoming a "tradition" of sorts to go on a Sunday night drive.  This is especially the case during the Christmas season.  Last Sunday while looking at lights we saw a particularlly impressive display.  Travis commented, "I'm blown away, just blown away..." He truly was in awe.  On the way home Parker saw the neighborhood blow up Grinch and his comment was:

"Look at that Grinch, I'm blow did up, Daddy!"
He thought he was so cool :)

Along  the way we also found this random tiger..

Parker recieved his first container of Pop Rocks...and LOVED them!

Country Corner

Last week our extended Vancil family enjoyed a trip to Country Corner Pumpkin Patch.  Country Corner has a special spot in our family's heart because it is close to my grandparents cabin at the lake and my cousins and I all grew up with autumn trips there.  We were lucky to have beautiful weather and a nice visit with family we don't see near often enough!

Uncle Justin and Parker on the cow train.  Brandon and Lilly in the front car.
Carson stuck behind with the grandparents!

We rented a fire pit and enjoyed a visit and yummy snack foods!

Parker and Carson found some random pumpkins along the nature trail with Grandma Vancil

Carson and Daddy waiting for the covered pumpkin wagon to take us out to the patch.
Brandon and Lilly on the wagon.  Brandon is my closest cousin in age and we both went to WIU together and we both had December weddings!  Lilly is only 4 months older than Parker.

The pumpkins are this way guys!
This one is almost as big as me! I'll take it!

Uncle Justin helping Parker pick the perfect pumpkin...for the 3rd time...which he ditched at the wagon for a smaller one just laying on the ground ;)

Some more photos of the birthday party...

The great story teller at work...

Make a wish...
On his actual birthday Parker had an appointment for his 3 year check up.  He's in the 90th percentile, or just below in all categories.
His birthday "wish" was to go to chuck E Cheese's which is funny because up until this time he has told us he doesn't like it there and it scares him...
I guess not anymore..

After a pit-stop at Grandma/Grandpa Stecher's we attempted a photo of us and the birthday boy...
he was not feeling it!!
Happy birthday sweet boy!
